#poem The Problem with Trophies

(An Adaption from Chung Tzu)

When the archer merely shoots,

All his skill is there.

When he shoots in a contest,

He gets nervous.

When he shoots for a trophy,

He goes blind

Or sees double

He loses his mind.

His skill has not changed,

But competition

Divides his thoughts

He thinks of winning,

Not shooting;

Desire takes away his skill.
