Tao 12

Too many colors take our sight away;
Too many musical notes make us deaf;

Too many flavors take our taste away;
A wild chase confuses the mind;

Precious objects rob us of right action.

The enlightened, therefore, work to satisfy
The belly, not the eyes. Forgetting
One, they easily master the other.
