Daodejing 64

A still thing is
easy to catch;

what has not arrived
is easy to stop.

The fragmented
is easy to scatter.

so, act before an event
has happened.

Order is best established
before disorder has begun.

The tree too large
to wrap your arms around
began as a tiny sprout;

the tallest tower rises
on a heap of dirt.

The journey of
a thousand miles
begins with a single
step.

Those acting for
their own benefit
do harm;

those who grasp
lose their hold.

Those free of themselves
do otherwise,
never rushing.

As much care of the end
as of the beginning
means success.

Those free of themselves
do not wish for what
others wish for, nor do
they overreach.

Those free of themselves
desire what others do not.

Those free of themselves
see what others miss.

Thus those free of themselves
assist the natural way of things,

never acting for self alone.
