Those Free of Themselves, Zhuangzi

Those free of themselves

act without stops,

harming nothing,

yet never thinking

about compassion.

They do not work at gain,

yet do not make

a virtue of poverty.

They act without stops,

self-reliant, yet

have no pride

in going it alone.

They keep anonymous—

virtue is its own reward.

No self is the self.

The greatest person

is nobody.
