Epictetus on Opinions

42.

When anyone speaks ill of you
or treats you badly, remember
this: he thinks he is right.

Others won’t do what
you think right,
but only what they
think is right.

If someone gets you wrong,
who is the one that’s wrong?

Think this way
and when someone
puts you down, you
will think only,

“that’s what he thinks.”
